Yard Sale – How to Organize
- Sort Your Stuff
- Go through one room at a time.
- Haven’t used in months, even years, then it’s time to LET IT GO…TOSS IT TO THE CURB!
- REMEMBER, there is a good chance most of your things can be sold!
- Electronics, Clothing, Furniture, Corningware, Trinkets, Tools and so on…
- TIP: Keep a list of what will be donated (if not sold) and what will be trashed. This will help you after the Yard Sale and have a game plan set.

- Gather Your Supplies
- Think about what you will need to properly display all your items.
- Clothes: Portable Clothes Rack, Clothes Line, hang as much as possible.
- Tarps: Place your items on if you might need to put on ground/driveway.
- Don’t Forget…CASH on hand to make change.
- Have VENMO? Always an option to receiving payment for your items.
- Paypal takes credit cards, if you have an account (or think you want to create one), it would be wise to find out if there is a fee for use of credit card payment and who pays the fee.

- Sort & Price Items
- Sort into categories.
- Group like items (Clothes, Books, Kitchen items…).
- TIP: If selling clothes or “vintage” items, you may want to label with details (size, year).
- Try NOT to overprice in hopes people may pay more.
- FACT: People like to negotiate. Think about it before you price it. It might be worth accepting a lower offer or have the price Open for Negotiations.
- REMEMBER: Price items just right to get it taken off your hands.
- RESEARCH: Check out a second hand store to help with possible pricing ideas. You will be amazed at what deals are out there!

- Make A Plan
- Things that do not sell:
- Extend your Yard Sale to the next day or following weekend. People check for yard sales daily, post your new date ASAP.
- REMEMBER: If you are scheduling a donation pick-up, this may take a few days. Calling ahead of time may limit the time you need to restore your items.
